How does your service work?
Our service is wireless point to multi point technology. This means that you must have line of sight or clear line of sight from your location to our tower.
What if I have a lot of trees?
No problem, we have state of the art, top of the line equipment that has the capability often penetrating through most trees and other existing obstacles. Line of sight is contingent on your location and your surroundings. Of course, our technician will do a sight survey when they are on your property and will be able to advise you on the best location to install our radio on your home or business.
What is included in a standard install? Where is the equipment located and how is it done?
A standard installation includes a sight survey to determine the best location on your home or business. How the radio is installed will depend on the location, the type of roof you have, etc. The installer will advise you on this before they begin the installation. After the best location for clear line of site is determined , the radio will be installed. From the radio there is a network (CAT-5) cable that is brought into your home. This will be done through an existing line going in to your home or a new drop (bring the cable in through an exterior wall into an interior wall where we will place a jack a little bigger than a phone jack, which is where you will plug into get your service) This too, will be determined by the installer and explained prior to installation. Once the line is in your home or business you can either connect the network cable directly to your computer, or you may wish to use a router or wireless router if you have multiple computers, use a wireless computer or have other wireless devices.
How long does a standard installation take?
A standard installation takes approximately 2 hours.
What if I need a custom installation?
You should go over any special requirements with your installer. Your installer will give you an estimate for your custom installation.
What is a wireless router, and do you provide them?
A wireless router allows you to use multiple computers wirelessly in and around your home, depending on the type of router you choose. Agave Broadband does not supply routers. If you wish to use a router with your service, you will need to purchase a router prior to the installation date.
Who owns the equipment?
The equipment remains the property of Agave Broadband. However, should the equipment come back damaged or if it remains unreturned if you cancel your service,you will be responsible for the price of the equipment.
What is the cost of the installation?
The cost of the installation will vary by location,Call the sales department for more information.
How much does your service cost?
We have different plans for individual needs. The pricing will depend on the package you choose. It will be anywhere from $29.95 to $89.95 a month. Call the sales department for our plans and prices.
What is included in the service?
5 email addresses and the speeds for the plan you choose. We offer 24/7 network monitoring to insure you receive the best possible internet service. We are not limiting usage; however abuse that impacts the integrity of our network may trigger a security review.
Are there any contracts?
We do not have any contracts. We are a month to month service.
Are there any cancellation fees?
There are no fees for canceling your service. However if you choose to pay for your installation in 3 payments and you cancel before all of those payments are completed,you will be required to complete those payments.. There will also be a $50 charge for our technicians to uninstall the equipment.
What should I do if my service quits working?
- Check all of your cables and make sure they are all connected securely. Make sure and check the electrical outlets as well as connected to each other. If unable to connect after this move to step 2.
- If you have a router you need to reboot it by unplugging it for at least 30 seconds and plugging it back in. If you are still unable to connect, try removing the router and plugging your computer in directly to the service.
- If still unable to connect you will need to reboot your radio by unplugging the power supply for a minute and plugging it back in. If after these steps you are still unable to connect you will need to contact your technical support at 505-246-6970 or you may listen to our network status line to see if there is a problem in your immediate area and an ETA for repair.
Can I change my bandwidth?
Yes, you can upgrade your service/bandwidth at any time.
How does your Refer a Friend Program work?
You will receive a month's free service for every person you refer to us!Just have the new customer give us your information when they call in or you can call us and give us their contact information. How do I get a static IP address?
Static IP addresses are only available to buisness class acounts. IP addresses will be issued acording to our IP allocation Policy. Please refer to our the forms on the Resource Requests page for more information
